Welcome to Lucky Kids
Kindergarten is an important stage in a child's development, as it provides the foundation for their future academic and social success. It is a place where children can learn, play, and grow in a safe and nurturing environment, and where they can begin to develop important skills such as language, communication, and socialization. This helps to ensure that children are well-prepared for the challenges in the future and can navigate the social and emotional landscape of the world around them.
Pedagogical concept
As a bilingual kindergarten where both German and English are spoken, the key pedagogical concept is language immersion. This means creating an environment where both languages are used throughout the day, in all activities and interactions.
Language immersion has several benefits for young children, including improved language development, cognitive flexibility, and cultural awareness. Children in a bilingual environment can benefit from being exposed to both languages in a natural and authentic way, which can help them become bilingual and biliterate.
To support language immersion, the kindergarten implements various strategies, such as recruiting native teachers, using both languages in all written and spoken materials, and encouraging children to use both languages when communicating with peers and adults. It is also important to provide opportunities for children to learn about the cultures associated with both languages, through activities such as celebrating festivals and learning traditional songs and stories.
In addition to language immersion, our pedagogical concept also include play-based learning, hands-on activities, creativity and individualized instruction to meet the needs of each child. By combining these approaches with language immersion, a bilingual kindergarten can create a rich and supportive learning environment for young children.
What characteristics set us apart?
One of the key characteristics of a non-denominational educational kindergarten is its emphasis on diversity and multiculturalism. This means that it promotes an appreciation for different cultures, beliefs, and values.
Another characteristic is its focus on a child’s approach to learning, which means that the needs and interests of each individual child is taken into consideration when introducing educational activities and curriculum.
Nourishment
Providing healthy nutrition to the children is important for their overall health and development. It allows for greater control over the quality and nutritional value of the food provided and can help to establish healthy eating habits at a young age. Therefore our Kindergarten is equipped to provide this service. We offer international menus, keeping in mind the nutrition values. We do not use processed food. Every meal is cooked in our kitchen by a professional cook.
The importance of sports and music in kindergarten
Sports play an important role in kindergarten as it helps children develop their motor skills, coordination, and balance, which are essential for their physical development. Additionally, sports provide opportunities for socialization, teamwork, and learning important life skills such as perseverance, dedication and leadership.
Music is an essential for children as it helps them develop their cognitive, emotional, and social skills. It can also enhance their creativity, language development, and overall brain development, providing a well-rounded education.
Excursions
Excursions in kindergarten provide children with opportunities to explore and learn about the world beyond their classroom. It can help to enhance their curiosity, social skills, and overall development, while also providing a fun and engaging experience outside of the typical learning environment.
We regularly visit the public Library and other diverse excursions, such as theatres, musical shows, picknicks, ice skating, museums, seasonal markets, etc.
